What Is IPL?
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) represents a breakthrough in age-defying skin care. IPL treatments address the effects of aging and sun damage with low risk of complications and no recovery time. This FDA-cleared, patented technology provides dramatic results for a variety of benign conditions, including age spots, sun-induced freckles, symptoms of rosacea, birthmarks, unsightly veins, acne scarring and other blemishes - even unwanted hair.
Unlike a laser, which emits one specific wavelength of light, IPL emits a broad spectrum of light with each pulse. The broad spectrum of light in each pulse allows us to treat a variety of skin imperfections at the same time. The state of the art machine we use is the Lumenis One, one of the most advanced IPL units produced. Treatments are quick and effective with very little downtime.
IPL photo-rejuvenation treats imperfections from sun damage and photo-aging, enlarged pores, rosacea, general redness, acne scars, dull complexions and other facial imperfections. Skin abnormalities can detract from your well-being and appearance, no matter how healthy and young you feel. After a series of treatments, you may see a significant reduction of unwanted pigmentation, redness, and lines, and see the appearance of smoother, revitalized skin. The same treatment can be used effectively on the neck, the chest, and the hands.
How Does IPL Work?
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a fast and effective simple light based procedure to lighten pigmentation caused by sun exposure and small facial veins from various causes. Treatment can be performed on the face, arms and chest. The treatments emits pulses of light into the skin, breaking up pigment so the body can more easily remove it through exfoliation. Small capillaries are heated to the point of coagulation and are then absorbed by the natural cleansing system of the body.
